Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

This privacy policy explains what personal information AG Carpet Specialist collects when you visit www.agcarpetspecialist.co.uk or contact us, why we collect it, and what your rights are. We keep it short and in plain English.

Who we are

AG Carpet Specialist is a carpet, rug, upholstery and hard floor cleaning business based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

Contact: info@agcarpetspecialist.co.uk or 07377 693355.

What information we collect

Quote and contact forms: your name, phone number, email address, town or postcode, the service you are interested in, your message and any photos you choose to attach.
Phone calls, WhatsApp, texts and emails: the details you share with us, such as your name, address, phone number and information about the job.
When we carry out a job: your address, contact details, details of the work and payment records. We may take before-and-after photos of the cleaned items or floors and use them on our website or social media. We never publish your name or address with them, and you can ask us not to use them or to remove them at any time.
Website usage: general information about how visitors use the website, such as pages viewed and the type of device, collected through Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager using cookies.

Why we use your information

To reply to your enquiry, give you a quote and arrange an appointment.
To carry out the work, take payment and deal with any follow-up, including our satisfaction promise.
To keep business and tax records, as the law requires.
To understand how our website is used and improve it.

We do this because it is needed to provide the service you asked for (contract), because we have a legitimate interest in running and improving our business, or because the law requires it. We do not send marketing emails or messages unless you have asked us to.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We only share it where needed with:

our website host and email provider, which store website and email data for us;
Google, for website statistics (Google Analytics / Tag Manager) and the map on our contact page;
our accountant and HMRC, for tax and business records;
anyone we are legally required to share it with.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they are required to protect it to UK standards.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into a job: up to 12 months.
Customer and payment records: up to 6 years, because UK tax rules require us to keep business records.
Before-and-after photos: until you ask us to remove them.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Some are needed for the website to work. Others, such as Google Analytics cookies, help us see how visitors use the site. Google Maps and embedded videos may also set their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the website will still work, although some features such as the map may not load.

Our analytics cookies are only used to produce statistics that help us improve the website. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you prefer not to be included in Google Analytics, you can install Google’s free opt-out add-on for your browser: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it or delete it, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to ask us to stop using your photos. To do any of this, email info@agcarpetspecialist.co.uk. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
